KUALA TERENGGANU: The Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Polytechnic in Dungun is closed for eight days starting today after four of its students are suspected of being infected with the Influenza A(H1N1).
The polytechnic's student affairs department head Khairul Azhar Mohamed said the first semester students, who came to register at the campus on July 6, were now under quarantine at the campus' hostel."The closure is on the advice of Dungun health officers. The campus will be opened on Aug 1," he said when contacted.
Khairul Azhar said the registration for post-industrial students, which was to be held on Monday, had been postponed to Aug 3.
Two days ago, another higher learning institution, the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) campus in Dungun was closed for 10 days to prevent the spread of the virus among students. - Bernama
